I had a great time taking pictures of little baby Olive last week. We went for what I have officially named, “the baby on a stack of ultra-soft, I wish I were small enough to sleep on towels too, cause that looks so comfortable” look. It was a lot of fun. When we finished we did a few shots on black as well. Total time: 25 min. Here are a few of my favorites. As a bonus, for you photographers out there who want to perfect your white seamless portraits, be it fashion or baby, I have included a link to an exceptional tutorial by an exceptional photographer. Enjoy…

Squeal!!! OMG I just love it! That second photo is just fabulous. I mean they’re *all* fabulous but that second one just speaks to me.
Thanks Em. Great product shots on your site by the way!
Found you at DPS… Loving these shots! ((-_)))
I agree Em, that 2nd shot is special. Love the B&W’s too.
I am assuming these were done with studio lights Chas, do you ever get any adverse reactions from the babies when the flash fires. The little ones look calm enough, but I’ve often wondered.
Hampshire: Thx for your comments. I have been using standard off camera flash units lately. They aren’t too blinding, and on these I shot them through a white umbrella (soft-box style). The babies are surprisingly unbothered by the lights.
wow… simply brilliant. I’ve just been recently blessed with a baby boy. I’m hoping i’ll be able to take shots like these soon. gonna try to set up a home studio. thanks for the link
Beautiful series of shots. I think the second one is the best of a good bunch.
Wow, It’s amazing! Thank for giving me a wonderful chance to see your daughter for the first time.
I hope you’re flattered and not too angry that I was so in love with this concept that I tried to replicate it with our first born.

Great work Mike!
Great job. I am so stealing your towel idea. It is so simple yet so elegant.
